Cutoutiltools.com, the online extension of China's leading cutting-tool builder Cutoutil, today added the Super Permanent-Magnet Chuck to its web catalogue.
Unlike conventional magnetic fixtures, the Super Chuck allows machinists to forecast holding force before the cut is made, eliminating trial-and-error set-ups and raising both safety and productivity.
Key advantages highlighted in the launch note:
Force you can calculate
Holding power N (N) > A×B + 1 939 × 90 (kgf)
where A×B is the contact area in mm².
Example: a 45-steel block 220 mm × 220 mm × 20 mm delivers 19 400 N of vertical attraction; the resulting 6 500 N tangential resistance (≈33 %) easily counters 283 m/min milling at 5 mm depth, 8 mm width, 0.05 mm/tooth feed.
Material-aware performance
– Low-carbon and alloy steels: 100 % rated force
– Cast iron: 90 %
– Minimum thickness for a closed magnetic loop: 6 mm
Surface finish also matters-ground faces retain full rating, while as-cast faces can lose up to 50 %.
Modular, shop-friendly design
– Place the work-piece across as many poles as possible; no need to align.
– Combine multiple chucks for large or irregular parts.
– Raise thin blanks on auxiliary blocks or use side-mounted chucks for horizontal mills and drill presses.
– Machine the chuck face once after installation to guarantee parallelism with the table.
The Super Permanent-Magnet Chuck is shipping now from Shanghai stock. Complete specifications, CAD drawings and on-line holding-force calculator are live at www.cutoutiltools.com/news.
