M-Type Heavy-Duty External Turning Tools | Cutoutil® MCBNR/L 2020K12–4040R25

Cutoutil M-Type heavy-duty external turning tools are engineered for CNC lathes running 24/7 on SAEM 1045 steel, Inconel 718 and hardened 42 CrMoS4. The 75° lead angle MCBNR/L style reduces cutting forces while the double-ended insert seats give two indexable edges per corner-cutting insert cost per part by 18 %. A PVD-TiAlN coated body resists built-up edge up to 900 °C, ideal for dry machining favoured in medical implant production.

Standard shank sizes from 20 × 20 mm to 40 × 40 mm fit DIN 69880 VDI-40 and BOT turrets without adapters. Each holder is pre-balanced to G 2.5 @ 8 000 rpm for Okuma, Doosan and Mazak multitasking centres.

Typical application: finish turning 65 HRC diesel injection plungers, achieving Ra 0.4 µm in one pass.
