Cemented carbide grades can generally be divided into three categories:
①YG type (WC-C0 type): Tools made of this type of cemented carbide have good toughness, wear resistance, thermal conductivity, etc., and are mainly used for processing cast iron, non-ferrous metals and non-metals.
②YT type (WC-TiC-Co type): As TiC is added to the material, the hardness and wear resistance of the material are improved, but the bending stiffness is reduced. This type of cemented carbide has high hardness and high heat resistance, good anti-bonding and oxidation resistance, and is suitable for processing steel, with low tool wear during cutting and high durability.
③YW type (WC-TiC-TaC-C0 type): TaC is added to YT material to improve the strength, toughness and red hardness of the tool. This kind of cemented carbide material has high high temperature hardness, high temperature strength and strong oxidation resistance, and is especially suitable for processing various high alloy steels, heat resistant alloys and various alloy cast irons.
